Porcelain veneers are made in a specialized dental laboratory.  Veneers are used to address issues of broken, chipped, permanently discolored, misshaped, or rotten teeth. Veneers are a very thin layer of ceramic that fits over the front surface of the tooth, like a false fingernail. Placing veneers is a permanent solution to fixing your teeth, and cannot be reversed. </span> <h2><span style="font-weight: 400;">Veneers are applied in two visits to the dentist:</span></h2> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">First Appointment: Consultation and Impressions</span></h3> <span style="font-weight: 400;">In the first visit, the tooth is prepared by shaving off up to 0.5 mm of enamel to create room for the veneer layer. An impression of the patient’s teeth is taken and sent to a specialized dental laboratory who will prepare the veneer. A temporary veneer is placed on the tooth for the patient to wear while the permanent veneer is being made. Temporary veneers are worn for two weeks while the permanent ones are prepared. </span> <h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Second Appointment: Veneer placement Day. </span></h3> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Many different bonding materials are used to attach the veneer to the affected tooth, making veneers an irreversible procedure. Once the veneers are placed on, an ultraviolet light is shone on them to finalize their bond. </span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Veneers are custom made and are designed to naturally fit your mouth and smile.
